Boeing 787 plane could gain another customer in the USA, with Delta’s plan becoming more real
Several months ago, rumors surfaced about Delta Airlines introducing a new type of wide-body (two-aisle) aircraft into its fleet, and now these rumors have gained more credibility. The focus is on the possibility that Delta is close to placing an order to acquire the Boeing 787-10. According to comments from reliable sources, Delta would be about to formalize an order for 787 aircraft, probably for the 787-10 variant. The idea that Delta would maintain a wide-body fleet made up of 100% Airbus aircraft was never realistic, given the history of competition between manufacturers. Boeing and GE presented a compelling proposition to Delta during the evaluation between the 787 and A350-1000, with Delta opting for the A350-1000 due to its range and performance. Delta currently has 20 A350-1000 aircraft on order and up to 20 Airbus options, which suggests the company may have placed its last Airbus widebody order in the near future. Delivery of the new 787s is expected to begin as the 767-300ERs are phased out of international service, which will eliminate a category of wide-body aircraft. – https://aeroin.net/aviao-boeing-787-pode-ganhar-mais-um-cliente-nos-eua-com-plano-da-delta-se-tornando-mais-real/
