ANAC allows minors traveling alone to be accompanied until boarding

As of March 2023, minors traveling unaccompanied on domestic flights can be escorted by a guardian to the departure lounge and from the arrivals lounge upon arrival at their destination. Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) amended Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulations #107 and #108, allowing airlines to implement the measure, providing greater convenience to those responsible. With the new rule, the airline operator has the possibility to grant access authorization to the minor’s companion to the boarding gate after identification, and the companion will be subject to the same passenger safety inspection procedures. It is important to point out that being the prerogative of air and airport operators, the companion’s access may be limited to certain airports, routes, or airlines. In addition to the regulatory evolution, bringing Brazil closer to other international models, accompanying minor passengers on the journey between the public area and the departure lounge aims to increase the feeling of comfort and safety for minors and those responsible for them. – https://www.gov.br/anac/pt-br/noticias/2023/anac-possibilita-que-menor-viajando-sozinho-seja-acompanhado-ate-o-embarque
