Government of MG reduces ICMS on aviation fuel
The governor of the state of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema, signed a decree for the reduction of ICMS on aviation fuel. The rate, currently around 11%, may be zeroed depending on the activities of airlines in the state. With the tax reduction, the government of Minas Gerais encourages the creation of new flights and expands connectivity in the state. “Being connected makes it easier to do business. No one goes to a congress, fair, or exhibition if the logistical difficulty is great”, said the governor, congratulating BH Airport, manager of Confins airport. In order to access the benefit, companies must establish protocols of intent with the state. In response to the new rate, Azul announced the creation of international flights from Belo Horizonte. The company will connect Confins airport to the cities of Curaçao, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, in addition to new regional services. “We have worked hard over the last two years to win and recover everything we have lost in a sector that suffered a lot during the pandemic, almost stopping operations”, said the director of operations and infrastructure at BH Airport, Herlischy Bastos. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/governo-de-mg-reduz-icms-do-combustivel-de-aviacao.html
