Flights to Brazil are highlighted by Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways highlighted its operations in the Brazilian and Latin American markets, amid its global expansion strategy, as demand for international air travel increases. Among Qatar Airways’ expansion plans in the Latin American market is the addition of a third frequency in Sao Paulo and the restart of flights to Buenos Aires, with a stop at Guarulhos airport. The start of both services is scheduled for March 31, 2024. “Our flights from Brazil are already operating with very high occupancy rates, to the point where we have to turn away some customers because the flights are very full”, highlights Craig Thomas, vice president of sales for the airline in the Americas in an interview with Reuters. The carrier currently has two daily flights to Sao Paulo, operated with Boeing 777 family aircraft, and will have 18 weekly frequencies with the addition of four new services in the first quarter of next year. The Doha-based airline reported net profit of USD 1.21 billion during the 2022/23 fiscal year and total revenue increased to USD 21 billion, up 45% from the previous period. 31.7 million passengers were transported, an increase of 71% in the annual comparison. The occupancy rate on the company’s flights was around 80%. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/voos-para-o-brasil-sao-destaque-na-qatar-airways.html
