Electric aircraft made demonstration flights in New York

Two manufacturers carried out last Sunday (12) demonstration flights of their electric vertical landing and take-off aircraft, the eVTOL, in New York. The German Volocopter, with the 2X prototype, and the North American Joby Aviation, with the S4, took off from a heliport, with the presence of city authorities at different times. The flights were successful, according to those involved in the projects. “We plan to make silent, emission-free flying an affordable, everyday reality for New Yorkers, while also significantly reducing the impact of helicopter noise”, said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby Aviation. Volocopter expects to receive final certification of VoloCity, its first commercial eVTOL from European regulators in 2024, while Joby Aviation recently delivered the first electric air taxi to the US Air Force for operational testing and expects to launch its commercial passenger service in 2025. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/aeronaves-eletricas-fizeram-voos-de-demonstracao-em-nova-york.html
