DECEA and MRE planning reinforces airspace security for the G20 Summit
On August 9, the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) to discuss planning measures for the G20 Summit, focusing on the security of heads of state and authorities, in addition to coordinating control and defense actions in Brazilian airspace. Among the issues on the agenda, the activation of exclusion areas classified as reserved, restricted, and prohibited was highlighted. During the period of activation of the areas, aircraft that violate restrictions and prohibitions are subject to intervention, persuasion, and detention, situations provided for in the Airspace Policing Measures. The area restriction model has already been implemented during other important events based in Brazil, such as World Youth Day, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2016 Olympic, and Paralympic Games and the 2019 Copa America. – https://aeroin.net/planejamento-do-decea-e-mre-reforca-seguranca-do-espaco-aereo-para-a-cupula-do-g20/
