Brazil stands out at the 14th Air Navigation Conference with new role and sustainability initiatives

Since August 26, a group of representatives from Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has been part of the Brazilian delegation participating in the 14th Air Navigation Conference (AN-Conf), held at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada. The most important stage for technical discussions in international civil aviation, the ICAO event, which continues until September 6, focuses on improving the performance of sustainability programs in the airline sector. Brazil gained prominence when it was awarded the position of vice-chair of the Conference, held by ANAC director Luiz Ricardo Nascimento. In this first week of AN-Conf, ANAC presented two working papers: the first, AN-Conf/14-WP/137, which presents the challenges of regulating the initial stages of disruptive aviation technologies, especially related to aircraft certification. The second, AN-Conf/14-WP/138 proposes the promotion of sustainable growth in civil aviation by encouraging diversity, equity, and inclusion, both for passengers and professional aviation sectors, adhering to the ANAC initiative with the Wings for All Program. The Agency also promoted the Information Papers AN-Conf/14-WP/166, which present information related to the major flood that occurred in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and its impact on air transport, and the AN-Conf/ 14-WP/167, which proposes the initiation of discussions within the scope of the Personnel Training and Licensing Panel with a view to establishing a standardized structure for the development of personnel licensing requirements applicable to aircraft operations with capacity vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL). – https://aeroin.net/brasil-destaca-se-na-14a-conferencia-de-navegacao-aerea-com-novo-papel-e-iniciativas-de-sustentabilidade/
