Chamber Committee approves project that allows ANAC action against violence against women on flights
The Road and Transport Committee of the Chamber of Deputies took a step in favor of passenger safety by approving Bill 4376/23. This project aims to authorize Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to request assistance from the police force to deal with offenders who threaten safety on aircraft, with a special focus on the protection of women. Presented by deputy Captain Alberto Neto (PL-AM), the project proposes changes to the legislation that created ANAC, specifically Law 11,182/05. Currently, the agency has powers to take measures related to safety in air transport, but the new project seeks to expand these responsibilities with a focus on gender-based violence. The project’s rapporteur, deputy Rosana Valle (PL-SP), expressed her support during the presentation of the opinion. She highlighted that the proposal is fundamental to creating a safer and more respectful environment for all passengers, highlighting the importance of more agile and proactive service in situations that involve threats to the safety and physical and psychological integrity of women on board. – https://aeroin.net/comissao-da-camara-aprova-projeto-que-permite-acao-da-anac-contra-violencia-a-mulheres-em-voos/
