Brazil was present at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Security Week 2024, held in Muscat, capital of Oman, from December 9 to 11. The event brought together authorities, experts and representatives from several countries to discuss the main challenges and opportunities in the field of civil aviation security and cybersecurity. The Brazilian delegation, composed of representatives from its National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the Air Force Command (COMAER), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) actively participated in the discussions and debates, contributing with the Brazilian experience and presenting national initiatives to strengthen aviation security. During the three-day event, topics such as the implementation of the Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP); new threats to civil aviation, such as the misuse of drones and cyberattacks; civil-military coordination; cybersecurity; technology and innovation; and the promotion of equal opportunities for all genders in civil aviation were discussed.
