Lufthansa Technik partners with Microsoft to apply artificial intelligence to aircraft maintenance
Lufthansa Technik, a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, says it is teaming up with Microsoft to drive the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Designed to streamline the entire maintenance process, this approach will significantly improve efficiency or even lead to completely new service offerings, the German Lufthansa Group carrier says. “We are excited about our collaboration with Microsoft,” said Dr. William Willms, Lufthansa Technik’s CFO and head of the company’s IT department. “This partnership will enable us to harness the power of AI to solve highly complex challenges, improve our operations, and deliver exceptional value to our customers.” The initiative includes more than 50 context-aware AI use cases based on Microsoft Azure AI Services and the Microsoft Azure cloud. One of the most impactful use cases is the optimization of layover planning (aircraft downtime between flights), which promises to save significant costs by reducing ground time by five to ten percent. – https://aeroin.net/para-aplicar-inteligencia-artificial-na-manutencao-aeronautica-lufthansa-technik-faz-parceria-com-a-microsoft/
