Galeao Airport announces increase in cargo flow in the first two months of 2023
After ending 2022 with a record in cargo handling, RIOgaleao Cargo continues to grow. In the first two months of 2023, the airport recorded a 6% increase in the volume of goods received compared to the same period of the previous year. In cargo value, the result reached a total of USD 1.6 MM considering the accumulated value of January and February. Growth in the two-month period was driven both by imports, with special emphasis on the oil and gas, naval transport, machinery and equipment, and aerospace segments, and by exports, resuming the strength of the agricultural segment. The machinery and equipment industry performed 60% above the weight achieved in the same period of 2022. The growth reaches 34% in cargo value. RIOgaleao Cargo is the entry and exit door for uninterrupted supply to local industries, which transforms the cargo terminal at Tom Jobim International Airport into an important engine of the Brazilian economy, adding up to more than USD 60 MM in total imports since the start of the concession in 2014. Recognized for its competitive and strategic advantages, RIOgaleao Cargo encompasses an extensive commercial and cargo air network that makes it possible to reach the main import and export markets in the world. – https://www.aeroflap.com.br/aeroporto-do-galeao-anuncia-alta-no-fluxo-de-cargas-no-primeiro-bimestre-de-2023/
