Air services agreement between Brazil and Portugal is also approved in the Senate and will be promulgated
In a symbolic vote this Wednesday, April 19, the agreement on air services between Brazil and Portugal signed in Lisbon back in July, 2021, was ratified by the Plenary. With this, the draft legislative decree (PDL) 83/2023 will be forwarded to promulgation. The vote in favor of the proposal was issued in plenary session by senator Renan Calheiros (MDB-AL), who chairs the Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Defense (CRE). In his report, Renan Calheiros highlights that the agreement constitutes “an important instrument of cooperation between Brazil and Portugal, bringing direct benefits to companies operating in both countries and to the millions of users of these services on both continents”. Structured in 26 articles, the agreement aims to increase the ties of friendship, understanding, and cooperation between the two signatory countries, given the existence of a stable legal framework for the operation of air services between the territories of Brazil and Portugal. This is what the explanatory memorandum of the Executive says, according to which the approved text contributes to the “densification of bilateral relations in the spheres of trade, tourism and cooperation”. The agreement — which was jointly prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Infrastructure, and Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) — is in compliance with the National Civil Aviation Policy, established by Decree 6780, of 2009. The text had already been approved in the House, and was later forwarded to the Senate for deliberation. – https://aeroin.net/acordo-de-servicos-aereos-entre-brasil-e-portugal-e-aprovado-tambem-no-senado-e-sera-promulgado/
